There are two prints extant from the negative. One was printed before the negative was trimmed in to the edges of the artwork being photographed, while the other was printed after the negative was trimmed. The first untrimmed variant reveals the manner in which the artwork was fastened to a board or easel lined with wallpaper so that it would be secure during the photographic exposure. The same wallpaper can sometimes be glimpsed in a similar manner elsewhere within Talbot's oeuvre.
