This object is part of Schaaf no. 5015

Copy of an elaborate pattern, possibly wallpaper

This fragment of an elaborately patterned piece of paper can be seen elsewhere in Talbot's oeuvre. Paper bearing the same design was used to line an easel used to make photographc reproductions of lithographic prints and etchings. The easel itself was photographed on it's own, but with the wallpaper lining in place (see Schaaf number 523, 524, 525 and 537). Ocassionally the wallpaper, if it was wallpaper, can be glimpsed from behind the cithograph being photographed (see Schaaf number 773).
