The main subject of this photograph is the candlestick, but the partial figure of a man has been captured in the background of the image. He is difficult to spot because he is out of focus and is headless (his head falls outside the fame of the image). Also, at some point the negative has been trimmed which makes him even less distinct. He is most visible or legible in the top right corner of 1937-4287/4. Prints made after the negative was trimmed have rendered him almost invisible.
