Robert Thorburn (1818-1885) was a Scottish miniature portrait painter. He was elected an associate of the Royal Academy in 1848.
The author and poet, Eliza Anne Ogilvy (1822-1912) was born in India to Scottish parents. Her second publication, A Highland Minstrelsy , published in 1846, was a collection of poems that was favourably received at the time.
