A boy (same as in Schaaf no. 1658) sitting on the front step of William Shakespeare's birthplace on Henley street, Stratford-upon-Avon. The photograph shows the house as it was before restoration in 1850. The house was put up for sale in 1846 and bought for £3000 by the Stratford and London Shakespeare Committees at an auction.
