Copy of a lithograph of a Persian newspaper

This is a photographic copy of a lithograph of a page from a Persian newspaper.  The lithograph was made by Joseph Netherclift (1792-1863).

Talbot sourced his lithograph of the Persian newspaper page from a book by Charles Stewart (1764-1837).

Charles Stewart, "Original Persian Letters, and other documents, with fac-similes", London, 1825 (Newspaper No. 3, pl. 24, p.216).

The actual book from which Talbot removed plate 24 to make his photographic copy of the page is held by Bodleian Libraries.  Details can be seen here.

Bodleian Libraries own three copies of this book in total.  A digitised copy of one of those three, with plate 24 intact, can be viewed here.
