Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Shottery, Warwickshire

Location: Shottery

Cottage where Anne Hathaway, the wife of William Shakespeare, lived with her family and where the writer first courted her. The house is located in the village of Shottery near Stratford-upon-Avon and in Shakespeare's day was known as Hewlands Farm. The cottage was built in different stages, with the earliest dating to the 15th century. It was acquired by the Shakespeare Trust in 1892.
