This object is part of Schaaf no. 396

Copy of an engraving of Cardinal Consalvi after a painting by Thomas Lawrence

The copy is a mezzotint engraving and is after a painting of Cardinal Consalvi by Sir Thomas Lawrence.  The original oil painting dates from 1819 and is held by the Royal Collection Trust (RCIN 404940).  Talbot’s photograph of the engraving would have been taken some time after 1840 as that is the year the mezzotint by Charles Edward Wagstaff was published.
