The photograph shows the Sint-Jan Nepomucenus bridge which crosses the Dijver canal in Bruges, in Flanders. The photographer has chosen a view of the bridge that shows the back of a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk which is mounted on the bridge. The bridge dates from 1357 and was built by the master mason, Jan Slabbaerd. It was was renovated in 1642.
