This portrait of the Swiss physician, Johannes Jacobus Scheuchzerus (1672-1733), dates from around 1708. The original engraving photographed by Talbot is by Joseph Nutting (born 1650), after an original artwork by Johann Melchior Füssli (1677-1736).
