The William Henry Fox Talbot Catalogue Raisonné

Master record for Schaaf no. 332

Two copy negatives printed on a single sheet of paper: a walled garden (top), a rustic landscape (bottom)

Attributed to: William Henry Fox Talbot

The practice of creating two negatives on the same piece of paper so that they could both be printed at the same time would have resulted in a faster rate for the production of photographic prints. Not only did this make the best use of supplies, such as paper and chemicals, it would also have made the best use of time and available sunlight.
