Portrait of a seated man and boy on table, possibly the entertainer General Tom Thumb
Attributed to: William Henry Fox Talbot
The boy on the table may be Charles Stratton (General Tom Thumb) - the 19th century American entertainer with dwarfism. If so, the photograph could either have been taken during his tour of England in 1844; otherwise it may have been taken by the American promoters of the calotype; the Langenheim brothers or Edward Anthony.
